Know what you mean, mean what you say
People are often saying things that don't mean and call it "a figure of speech". But what if someone doesn't understand that figure and take the statement literally. What if someone really believes they are so hungry, they can eat a horse? Dow that make that person stupid or a good listener? The whole point is you never know how someone may take what you say. There is no guarantee that people will understand the analogies that you have or what you are trying to say the you think your saying it. That is why the clearness of terms on writing is so important. I think that it is irresponsible to hoist word or passages to the public that seemingly had credibility but it was poorly worded to lead someone in the wrong direction. Or you may run the mistake of offending someone else. That last thing you want is to offend someone else's views and opinions. Hence, we must watch what we write and how we write it. The way people see your writing can also be the way people see you.
